PRAYER AND STUDY GROUPS
There are a number of prayer and study groups within our parish, as follows.
Weekly Prayer Group
Our Church has a Prayer Group that meets regularly on Saturday mornings at Plaistow church starting at 8.30 am and finishing as the clock strikes nine o'clock. Everybody is welcome - whether you have something specific to pray for or not. You can voice your prayer openly or keep it private or simply affirm the prayers of others. It's not a service as such - there are no processions, rituals, hymns or music. We just sit around the big table and pray.
Following on from a very successful Lent Study Group run by our Church in 2006 there was a demand for more regular study, and to this end a SPIRE (Study, Prayer, Interaction, Reflection, Encouragement) Group has been started by our Lay Reader.
The SPIRE Group meets weekly for a block of about six weeks followed by a break of four to six weeks – all are very welcome to attend. Details of the next SPIRE meetings will be provided on our ‘forthcoming events’ web page (click on “services and events” above).
Our Church occasionally runs other short-term study groups (e.g. during Lent) – again, details will be given on our ‘forthcoming events’ web page (click on “services and events” above).
We are also hoping to hold more Alpha Courses in the parish (click on “Alpha course” above for details).
There are also other Bible study house groups within the parish - for more information please contact the Vicar in the first instance (click on “contact” above).
